SRTEPC Is First EPC To Receive ISO Certification

 The Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India has become the first textile export promotion council to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification, according to Mr Anil Bamba, executive director of the council.

The certificate was presented on behalf of the council by Capt. J C Anand, chairman of Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), to Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Union textiles minister, at the council's annual export awards function in December. In order to achieve ISO certification, according to Bamba, the officers and staff of the council were thoroughly trained by experts from the Textiles Committee for more than a year in various aspects of quality management.
