IKME Set For 2005
The International Exhibition of Finishing and Knitting Machinery (IKME), organized by Fiera
Milano International (FMI) S.p.A. and inaugurated last year at Fiera Milano in Milan, has gained
the sponsorship of the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX). Going
forward, IKME will take place quadrennially in odd-numbered years in alternation with ITMA,
CEMATEXs international textile machinery show. IKME 2005 is scheduled to be held Nov. 18-22, 2005,
at Fiera Milano.Umberto Protti, chairman of IKME 2003, will continue to serve in that capacity for
IKME 2005. IKME 2003 exhibitors came primarily from Italy and from the flat-knitting sector.The
2005 exhibition will broaden its scope to include the entire knitting machinery and textile
finishing machinery sectors; producers of auxiliary machinery and equipment, dyestuffs and other
auxiliary products; and fiber and yarn manufacturers. IKME 2005 is expected to benefit from active
promotion by the Italian Association of Textile Machinery Producers (ACIMIT) as well as by German,
Spanish and Swiss textile machinery associations all members of CEMATEX.
