Beijing Textile Arena Debuts In March
The first-ever Beijing Textile Arena will be held this spring in the Chinese capital city of Beijing. The event, which brings together four individual textile and garment shows, is supported by the China National Textile Industry Council (CNTIC).The four events that will take place under the Beijing Textile Arena umbrella are: Intertextile Beijing, an exhibition of apparel fabrics and accessories; Yarn Expo, an exhibition for fibers and yarns; China International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC 2004), China's largest exhibition for garments and fashion accessories; and Knitting Fair, a knitted garments exhibition.Although the events will be housed in three different exhibition facilities — Beijing Exhibition Centre, National Agricultural Exhibition Centre and China International Exhibition Centre — a shuttle bus will operate regularly between the venues to provide transportation for show attendees. In related news, the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council of India (Texprocil) has announced that it will be leading a national pavilion at this year's Yarn Expo. Texprocil says about 15 cotton yarn producers from India are expected to participate. India acounts for about 25 percent of the world's yarn export trade.
