Bekaert Advanced Coatings Introduces Rapier Coating
Belgium-based Bekaert Advanced Coatings has combined two of its coatings used to repair textile machinery parts and protect them against wear, abrasion and corrosion, producing a new customized duplex coating for rapiers. The new coating features Becotec®, a thermal sprayed coating, with its Dylyn® diamond-like coating layered on top. According to Bekaert, this combination produces a long-lasting, highly wear-resistant rapier coating. The Dylyn coating also provides the rapiers with low friction properties in high humidity or wet environments.
