Lu Thai Takes Delivery Of 500th ComforSpin®Machine
To commemorate the delivery of the 500th Rieter ComforSpin® compact-spinning machine, Rieter
Machine Works Ltd., Switzerland, presented Lu Thai Textile Co. Ltd., China, a gold-plated
perforated drum and a rock crystal in a ceremony held at the Lu Thai plant in Shandong province.The
initial installation of the ComforSpin system at Lu Thai, which included a K44 with preparatory
machinery, was done at the beginning of 2002. The 500th machine was one of the units included in a
follow-up order.To date, Lu Thai has placed four machinery orders with Rieter.Lu Thai is a
vertically integrated company with its own spinning, weaving and knitting mills, as well as
finishing and garment manufacturing operations. It employs more than 4,000 workers and has 88,000
ring-spinning spindles. The company says its revenues will reach about 1.8 billion Chinese yuan
(approximately $218 million) in 2003.
