Atlas Copco Updates Z-Compressors
Atlas Copco, Sweden, has launched a new generation of its oil-free Z-compressors. According to the company, the Z110-160-VSD-FF series offers improved energy efficiency, reliability and versatility.The Z110-160 is a fully integrated, oil-free screw compressor range, with a capacity to deliver 120 to 430 liters per second of air at a pressure of 7 to 10.4 bar. An optional variable-speed drive continuously adjusts the speed of the drive motor to match load requirements, allowing energy consumption to decrease by 15 to 35 percent. An available integrated dryer removes moisture from inlet air using hot air from the compressor. Requiring no external energy source, it offers considerable energy savings, according to Atlas Copco. An advanced Elektronikon control system monitors overall performance, providing service indications and alarms for malfunctions and safety shutdowns.The compressor unit can be packaged into a 20-foot container (10 feet without dryer) for outdoor applications. In addition, every unit is delivered as a complete pre-wired, pre-piped skidmounted package.
