This years theme for the International Cotton Conference, to be held in Uzbekistan in May, is Cotton and Textiles Important Factors of Economic Growth in Central Asia.The event is organized by the government of Uzbekistan and the U.S.-based International Cotton Advisory Committee, in cooperation with Cotton Outlook Ltd.According to organizers, the conference will capitalize on the experiences of the two previous events, also held in Uzbekistan and attended by hundreds of participants.It is envisioned that the conference will be held biennially in the future in Uzbekistan during spring time. In addition, a new event has been launched to co-locate with the conference. Cotton & Silk World, organized by U.S.-based International Exhibition Group (IEG) and Uzbekistan-based UzExpoCentre. According to IEG, Cotton & Silk World is a first-of-its-kind event that targets growers and manufacturers, as well as corporate and government agencies, investors and international merchants.
