Italian Textile Machinery At IGATEX

Italian Textile Machinery At IGATEX
About 20 Italian textile machinery manufacturers participated in IGATEX 2005, which was held in Karachi, Pakistan.Their presence testified to the attention paid by Italian companies to the Pakistani market.According to the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT), Italian textile machinery exports to Pakistan totalled about 74 million euros in 2004, representing an 80-percent increase compared to the previous year and making the country one of the leading markets for the Italian textile machinery industry. The most requested machines were spinning machines (33 percent of the total), followed by knitting machines (26 percent) and weaving machines (24 percent). In preparation for the elimination of import quotas this year,ACIMIT said, Pakistani manufacturers were looking to improve the quality of their products by investing in new machines. This continuous focus on the upgrading of the textile production process may provide another opportunity for Italian textile machinery manufacturers to grow in the Pakistani market.
