VDMA Announces German Machinery Symposium For Indian Textile Machinery

VDMA Announces German MachinerySymposium For Indian Textile Industry
The German Textile Machinery Association within VDMA has announced that it will hold a German Machinery Technology Symposium in India. The VDMA trade fair committee — composed of leading manufacturers such as Barmag,Thies, Schlafhorst,Trützschler, Monforts, Lindauer Dornier, Mayer & Cie, Groz-Beckert, Stoll, Dilo, Karl Mayer and Rieter — proposed this initiative, which found immediate support by the VDMA board. So far, some 30 German companies have announced their intention to participate in the two-day symposium, which will be held in Coimbatore — the heart of the Indian spinning industry. The symposium will feature all areas of the textile chain including technology for spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing, nonwovens and man-made fibers. The symposium is scheduled for December 6-7, 2005, and will be held at The ResidencyHotel, Coimbatore.Participation will be limited to 600 leaders from the Indian textile industry. The Textile Machinery Association within VDMA (German Engineering Federation) represents some 130 German top textile manufacturers and stands for approximately 85 percent of German textile machinery production. The turnover of the German textile machinery branch reaches 4 billion to 5 billion euros. Because about 90 percent of German textile technology production is exported worldwide, German manufacturers cover some 30 percent of worldwide textile machinery exports. This high margin sets Germany well ahead of Japan and Italy, who supply a share of some 15 percent respectively.
