Turkish Company Installs Monforts Tenter; Thai Companies Earn Monforts' Certifications

A six-chamber Montex 6000 tenter featuring a thermal oil circulating heating system from Germany-based A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG recently was delivered to Yakar Tekstil in Istanbul, Turkey. The machine, ordered through local representative Masters Tekstil, marks the first Montex 6000 installation in Turkey. Yakar, a velvet and jacquard upholstery fabric manufacturer, will use the tenter in its finishing department in conjunction with a coating unit from Italy-based Aigle Macchine S.r.l.

“We recognize the necessity to further improve the quality of finishing,” said Yahya Yakar, president. “The finishing line includes a Monforts padder and the Aigle coating unit to provide us with a superior edge over our competitors …. We are now able to offer our customers enhanced value-added finishing for our fabrics.”

Yakar has the capacity to produce 600,000 meters of fabric per month ranging from 500 to 900 grams per square meter. Russia and the Ukraine form the primary markets for Yakar’s fabrics.

In other Monforts news, Siam Knitwear & Garment Co. Ltd. and Boon Chuay Industrial Co. Ltd., both based in Thailand, have been granted Monforized certifications. Recipients of this certification, which must be renewed every two years, must demonstrate the ability to produce consistent, high-quality fabrics on perfectly maintained machinery. Monforts developed the certification and the new Monforized label to aid textile buyers in recognizing quality products from textile dyers and finishers. Siam Knitwear is a producer of knitted apparel. Boon Chuay specializes in dyeing and finishing woven fabrics.

In separate presentations, Monforts General Manager Wolfgang Kaphahn gave the Monforized licenses to Siam Knitwear General Manager Vikit Dhanasarnsombat and Boon Chuay Managing Director Sirichai Sripolpaew.

Monforts reports that in recent months it has given more than 20 Monforized certificates to manufacturers in China, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany, Italy and Belgium.
