Cotton Incorporated Debuts EFS® In China
Cary, N.C.-based Cotton Incorporated recently hosted a conference in Shanghai to introduce its
Engineered Fiber Selection® (EFS®) System software to users in China. Held at the Regent Hotel, the
three-day event attracted attendees from more than 40 major cotton mills in the country to learn
about state-of-the-art fiber management.
"Listening to the professional explanation of EFS experts from Cotton Incorporated and watching the vivid demonstration of the system operation, there was great interest overall by the attendees, with several companies pursuing the possibility of licensing the EFS system to integrate it into their current fiber management procedures," said Charles Chewning, vice president, Fiber Management Research, Cotton Incorporated.
Shuibo Xu, deputy director, China Fiber Inspection Bureau (CFIB); Xiaoxin Yu, director, Cotton Inspection Division, CFIB; James L. Knowlton, US Department of Agriculture's Cotton Program; and Leo Yung, director, Central Textile (HK) Ltd., were among the speakers at the conference.
The EFS system is a computer-based cotton management system that uses high-volume instrument data to assist managers with inventory management, spinning quality and end-product quality. The system also offers electronic communication between mills and merchants.
