Jiangsu Hengli Chemical Fibre Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of polyester yarn and fabric, has ordered 776 machines for its new production facility. In addition, a group comprising 11 private textile manufacturers has ordered 680 machines.

Jiangsu Hengli currently produces 500 million square meters (m2) of fabric and 400 tons of yarn per year, and will more than double its capacity to 1.1 billion m2 of fabric and 540 tons of yarn upon completion of current expansion projects. The company already has installed 3,000 water-jet and 400 air-jet weaving machines.

Itema Group’s 20,000-m2 manufacturing facility in Shanghai, which employs 170 people, had a turnover of 30 million euros in 2005 and expects to produce more than 2,200 weaving machines worth 55.4 million euros in 2006.
