Epic Group Opens Apparel Plant In Bangladesh

epic_Copy_1In early October 2006, Epic Group, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, opened Cosmopolitan Industries Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL) - a state-of-the-art apparel production facility, which the company reports is the largest stand-alone apparel plant in Bangladesh.

The 500,000-square-foot facility in Dhaka has the capabilities to produce approximately 50,000 apparel units per day, and to finish 60,000 units per day in its wet-processing area and 20,000 units using wrinkle-free technology. CIPL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Epic Group, also has purchased 20 computerized embroidery machines from Japan.

"This is an exciting step forward for the Epic Group," said Ranjan Mahtani, CEO. "The opening of CIPL will bring a new class of manufacturing to the Bangladesh fashion industry, and after 25 years of experience in this market, we are pleased to be able to make such a positive contribution."
