CITME Technology: Smit Textile

Italy-based Smit S.p.A. will showcase at the CITME 2006 Italian Pavilion its latest rapier and air-jet technology. Smit Textile’s rapier technology, found on its GS900 and GS900F terry machine, features flexible rapiers inside the shed and uses no guiding teeth to reduce friction on the warp yarns.

The JS900 air-jet weaving machine, based on the same modular architecture as the GS-series of machines, features: two-, four-, or six-color weft insertion; CAN-BUS communication with weft feeders for real-time yarn control; electronically controlled airflow for main and auxiliary nozzles; and programmable weft-holding and -cutting electronic control.
