TenCate Geosynthetics Asia -- a production location for the Netherlands-based Royal Ten Cate Division TenCate Geosynthetics -- has begun to fulfill an order for 105 TenCate Geotube systems from Malaysia-based Huntsman Tioxide. Manufactured by TenCate's China-based subsidiary Ten Cate Industrial Zhuhai (China), the Geotubes are furnished to Huntsman Tioxide through Ashland -- a US-based distributor of chemicals and plastics, and a manufacturer of chemical specialty and performance products, with a location in Shanghai. Deliveries will continue over a nine-month period.

Huntsman Tioxide, a producer of titanium dioxide, will use the Geotubes as a filtration and storage system for dewatering and storing calcium sulfate in an environmentally friendly manner.  

If laid end-to-end, the geotubes measure 5.5 kilometers in length. The order is one the largest Asian orders to date for TenCate Geosynthetics.
