Austria-based J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH, a manufacturer of digital textile printing machines and coating equipment, recently took its first order from China for a 25-dots-per-inch (dpi) ChromoJET printer. The machine selected by Haima Carpet Co. Ltd., a leading carpet company in China, is 4 meters wide and features eight colors with 128 jets per color. The machine will be used to create new products for the carpet tile market.

In related company news, China-based Yiwu New Rainbow Craft Carpet Co. Ltd., a privately owned enterprise primarily involved in making bath mats, also inked a contract with Zimmer for a 25-dpi ChromoJET printer, which will be Zimmer's second installation of the machine in China. Yiwu New Rainbow Craft selected a 2-meter-wide model featuring 12 colors with 128 jets per color.

According to Zimmer, both machines are in production, with delivery expected to occur early in 2010. The company reports more than 400 ChromoJET machines are currently installed in production facilities worldwide.
