Over four days, more than 55,000 visitors toured the ShanghaiTex showfloor to view the latest in textile technology.
Visitor, Exhibitor Reactions
Organizers reported increased demand for energy-efficient machinery, as well as digital printing machinery. Buyers from the northwestern regions of China were more interested in cotton spinning machines than were buyers from other regions. In general, most visitors were interested in optimizing their manufacturing chain with new equipment investments.
In 2011, ShanghaiTex introduced the International Group Delegation Programme to meet the overseas demand from customers interested in Chinese textile machinery. Companies or associations with 10 or more people attending the show formed buyers groups, which entitled them to a set of services including connections with potential business partners. More than 20 overseas and local trade delegations, and top 500 Chinese textile enterprises participated in the program.
"Our company pays high attention to ShanghaiTex," said Li Yu Zhang, supply management manager, China-based Shandong Lutai Textile Co. Ltd. "It is our fifth time to visit ShanghaiTex. Every time we organize a group of more than 20 delegates to visit the show. ShanghaiTex is a professional exhibition that is helpful for us. We can see innovative equipments and seek for new suppliers."
Many ShanghaiTex 2011 exhibitors also were pleased with the business opportunities provided by the show.
"[ShanghaiTex] is an international and professional exhibition [that] could attract new comers and gather buyers from all over the world," said Charmaine Chim, planning division chief, Shima Seiki (Hong Kong) Ltd. "We are glad to see that more people know our brand through ShanghaiTex."
"It was our third time to participate in ShanghaiTex," said Ye Qin, marketing manager, Germany-based Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH. " This show is renowned and has become one of the biggest textile machinery exhibitions in China of which most of the companies would exhibit at ShanghaiTex. We are glad to tell that we have closed deals onsite."
ShanghaiTex 2011 was sponsored by Shanghai Textile Holding (Group) Corp., China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-council, and China Chamber of International Commerce Shanghai Chamber of Commerce. Co-organizers included Shanghai Xinfang Textile Engineering Co. Ltd., Shanghai Huafang Exhibition Service Co. Ltd., Beijing Yazhan Exhibition Services Ltd., and Shanghai Dahua Exhibition & Conference Corp.
